Description

Enjoy a tremendous view of Pike’s Peak mountain along with abundant wildlife in the beautiful Colorado Rockies. This newly-remodeled vacation rental home sits at 9,200 feet adjacent to the Pike National Forest. The cabin is perfect for couples, a family, a small family reunion, or anyone wanting to relax in the mountains any season of the year. This location allows guests to step out of a private mountain home into eight acres of alpine forest, with a short walk to a national forest. This vacation spot offers the best of all worlds; a comfortable home base for relaxing, exploring, and sightseeing, with the conveniences of home; a forest playground; plus the amenities from nearby cities.
This home is equipped with satellite TV both upstairs and downstairs. The two big screen TVs and DVD players are great for watching movies. Visitors will also enjoy the wireless internet access and the unlimited phone service for both local and long distance calls.

This is an immaculate home with new beds, furnishings, and appliances. The driveway goes to the front door. The cabin features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen with adjacent dining room, a great room upstairs, and a cozy family room in the lower level. The kitchen, great room, and dining room are open for comfort and convenience. Both the upstairs great room and the lower level family room provide great gathering spots with large windows that bring in the sun and make it easy to view the mountains and wildlife.

The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, utensils, dishes, and pans. A propane grill on the deck is available for outdoor grilling. All you need to bring is your food. The outdoor deck provides an exquisite daytime view of Pike’s Peak and clear nighttime view of the solar system. The backyard forms into a tree-covered valley for exploration and hiking. The wood burning stove will take the chill off a cool evening.

This is a great location for those wanting to explore the outdoors, yet remain close to the city and numerous attractions. The roads are well maintained. If wanting to explore beyond the cabin and surrounding forest, there are a multitude of things to do nearby. The cabin is located 15 minutes from Woodland Park (and 30 minutes from Colorado Springs), which has enough stores to provide about any product or service needed. There are many things to do year round in the Pikes Peak Region in addition to fishing, hunting, hiking, rafting, and skiing. The changing of the Aspen leaves in September is breath-taking. Summer time in the Rockies is unmatched, with average temperatures of 70 degrees, the Aspens in full bloom, and a sprinkling of wildflowers.

Great value, well worth it!

We just spent a week at this unbelievably nice home, which provided everything we needed and much more than most other places. The view of Pike’s Peak from both the deck and the indoor large indoor glass windows was spectacular, as was the backyard forest. The beds were very comfortable and the house furnishings were much nicer than normal. The kitchen was fully stocked and we ate all of our meals at the house. The isolated, peaceful setting made for a relaxing week. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

Burkholder cabin stay

We arrived late on a Monday evening to a clean beautiful cabin in the mountains. We really didn’t appreciate how beautiful of a setting we were in until the next morning when we witnessed a stunning sunrise over Pikes Peak from the deck of the cabin which is large enough to host several folks. The cabin was clean, spacious and we were amazed at how accommodating. It seems Steve and Tina thought of everything that people might need while staying there. Four nice bedrooms, a large kitchen and plenty of outside space to wander. We definitely had a great experience. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin.

Great Place to Stay

The cabin is beautiful and a very nice place to stay. My family really enjoyed the snow that fell the first night we were there. My 3 yr. old granddaughter got to see 7 deer off the back deck and actually was able to feed one of them a cracker out of her hand. You simply can not go wrong on staying at this totally remodled cabin. The views are beautiful and you can't beat the seclusion.

Highly Recommended Rental

My family (8 people) just stayed one week at this rental property. It was wonderful - beautiful view, house and peaceful. More than enough room for all. The appearance and amenities were accurate in location, appearance and amenities. We hated to leave. We were within 1/2 to 1 hour of attractions and each day we ventured out to the different towns/communities. I would highly recommend this to anyone that would like to visit this area of Colorado. The owners were very helpful and friendly and I am so jealous that they have this home.

Everything We Needed And More

Despite the rain that accompanied our arrival, nothing could dampen our pleasure with our accomodations. It had everything we needed and more. We were only looking for dry sleeping accomodations and a communial kitchen. The house was spacious, clean, well supplied and was away from it all so that the family could enjoy each other without distractions. One morning, we awoke to three bull elk grazing in the meadow below the deck. We barbequed two nights and ate on the deck. What few questions I had were promptly answered by the owner. If we had more trails to explore, we would come back again.

Our Best Vacation Ever

We thought that this property would suit us well after we saw the online pictures. But we found it to be even better than described by owners. The house seemed to sparkle as far as cleanliness - the kitchen and bathroom counter tops were spotless.
Another things we really liked, although my husband and I spent a full week at the cabin, we hosted my son and family (5 people) for several nights. It was great to have a master bedroom/bath at one end of the house and at the other end of the house, 2 bedrooms and a bath. Both families had the privacy that we needed due to all having different sleep patterns.
Also, all 7 of us had only brought carry-on luggage from home so it was great to be able to launder the limited amounts of clothing we brought along. We enjoyed the option of having 2 refrigerators as well. The grandkids enjoyed seeing deer and a coyote outside the house.
As far as sightseeing, this is a great location - we only saw a few of many sightseeing options. I have been many places in my life where it seemed like there were a limited number of things to do. But this area is awesome. The following were all within a one hour drive from the house, and we visited one each day: Garden of the Gods (incredible sandstone rocks), Pueblo Cliff Dwellings(mind boggling as far as construction); Florrissant Fossil Beds (Wow!); Dinasour Museum in Woodland Springs (incredible); Cogway Railroad up to Pike's Peak (breathtaking); Cripple Creek Mining Town - went down 1000 feet into old gold mine - then later took train back through gold mining country.

Better Than a Five-Star Resort

We spent a week in this beautiful, fully remodeled home with spectacular views. With four bedrooms and large gathering areas (especially the deck), it was the perfect place to meet up for a family vacation. This home has all of the ammenities; it provided something for everyone, from watching tv and using the wireless connection, to just relaxing and enjoying nature out on the deck. We grilled out each night and enjoyed a fabulous view of Pikes Peak as we ate our meals. You are close to everything but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. My family really enjoyed seeing all the elk and deer; espcially the ones that walked up by the house to eat the apples we left for them. This house was better than a five star resort and we will definitely come back again.

Definitely Will Stay Here Again

Our family enjoyed a wonderful week in this beautiful vacation home! Tastefully decorated, comfortable couches, chairs, deck furnishings, and beds made for a very relaxing week! We appreciated the wireless internet and phone service too. The owner was super to work with and we were fortunate to meet his very helpful caretaker! We hiked the Crags, drove to Buena Vista and were awestruck by the Collegiate Peaks, took the Shelf Road from Cripple Creek to Canon City, and drove through 11 Mile Canyon - simply amazing scenery! We'd definitely stay here again!

Air Force Academy Family

In May '2011 my son graduated from the US Air Force Academy. We rented this cabin to host both sets of grandparents as well as our immediate family. We had the time of our lives! The cabin is in a beautiful location! The view of Pikes Peak from the back porch is absolutely breath-taking! Because we live in Hawaii our children got to experience snow for the very first time! It was but a brief winter wonderland...and then it turned warm again so we could continue to enjoy the outdoors! The owners were delightful to work with! (They were so accomodating, even when we changed our minds at the last minute and decided to stay an extra night!) The cabin itself is spacious, yet somehow it still feels cozy and inviting! The kitchen was easy to move around in, and the washer and dryer are so conveniently located! Truly, we cannot say enough to express how much we enjoyed our time together at this location!

A Great Place to Get Away

We enjoyed the stay in your home and had a great time celebrating Christmas with our kids. Lots of room with very nice beds and bedding. A beautiful view of Pike's Peak and able to watch the sunrise and sunsets each night. The roads to get there were well maintained and enjoyed McGinty's in Divide. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of cooking utensils and dishes. Would definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for a beautiful and quiet place to enjoy the Colorado Rocky's.
