Description

Spend your nights in one of Denver's most trendy neighborhoods close to great restaurants, bars, shops and coffee. Our newly built guest home is located in Denver's Berkeley neighborhood, one block off the Tennyson Cultural District and just 10 minutes from downtown Denver. The carriage house is brand new from the foundation up. We have built the space with our family in mind knowing that we plan on using it between hosting guests. It's a 600 sf, one bedroom apartment. We have a modern classic style and the style of the apartment reflects that aesthetic. We have stocked the house with high end appliances and all of the cooking gear needed to prepare meals (including sharp knives!). Most guests will likely take advantage of the amazing restaurant options on our street but should they need to cook, the place is set up for it. There is a high efficiency washer and dryer if guests need to wash clothes. The bathroom is built with high end finishes, Kohler fixtures and stocked with fresh towels, soaps and other bathroom necessities. For sleeping arrangements, there is a queen size bed in the bedroom, and a pull out sofa bed in the main living area. We have a large UHD TV set up with local digital antenna (i.e. CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, etc.), AppleTV with DirectTV NOW including HBO. Parking on Utica Street in the front of our house is two hours only (Mon-Sat 8am-5pm), and they do ticket cars! Please use the guest parking pass provided if you are here on weekdays. Please don't lose these as we only have 2 per year from the city and we will have to assess a $75 charge for one that goes missing) Parking on 43rd street down the alley is also a good option should you choose to access the home through to back. We are onsite hosts and we will never accept a bookings for our guest house while we are out of town. We usually have pretty minimal interaction with guests as we have full time schedules with our careers. Generally speaking, we are regularly on the property when guests stay with us but may not be there when you check-in (we might be at work). We have a keypad and private entrance for the home and will provide the code upon check-inn so it's not necessary for us to greet you. We definitely try to meet everyone in person while they stay with us but at the very least are always available by text email for questions or recommendations on things to do or places to eat. Berkeley is very walkable, and we have most amenities just a few short blocks away. We are less than 3 miles from downtown Denver. In fact, the neighborhood is rated as one of the top 10 in Denver according to many local publications. On Tennyson Street there are lots of coffee shops and restaurants, a couple bookstores, a barre studio, a Natural Grocers Market and other fun shops. Across 38th Street there is a Sprouts Market, a dry cleaners, Starbucks and 24 Hour Fitness. A bit further down 44th Street are a Safeway and Anytime Fitness. Lots of great new restaurants are popping up all the time and we even have two breweries on Tennyson. The neighborhood is very kid friendly with a park across the street. There is a fun old time amusement park called Lakeside right down the street which is quite the experience in the summer. It's pay per ride and can be very affordable and good family fun. Berkeley Park is close by and offers a great place for a run or a stroll with the family. It has some very nice views of the mountains, a public library and a rec center with a indoor/outdoor pool. Sloan's Lake is just down the road if you want some water activities like paddle boarding or water skiing on hot summer days provided you bring/rent a boat or board and have transportation to the lake. To get here from the Denver International Airport is about a 30 minute drive by car. If you don't have a car, the best option is to take the A-line train to Union Station ($9). From there, we are a quick cab/uber/lyft ride to and from downtown and Union Station (another $8-15 depending on time of day). We have plenty of walkable stores and shops near us and it generally works out well for people who only plan to experience the city to skip the car rental. If you plan to visit the mountains or do any kind of hiking then a rental car is definitely the way to go. Check-in time is 1pm-6pm and check- out time is noon. Daily housekeeping is not included. If you have an entended stay with us, please let us know if you would like extra cleaning services provided. There are cleaning supplies, trash bags, paper towels etc. under the sink. Please let us know if there is anything you need for the carriage house, as we tried to anticipate everything but always want to know if we can make improvements to our service. About The Owner

Hi! I'm a Colorado native and my wife Sara is originally from California. We have both lived in the Highlands Berkeley neighborhood with our family (and Oliver the golden retriever) since 2008. We love the outdoors, great food, family, and the urban (but not too urban) lifestyle that living in Denver affords. You might catch us headed out for a bike ride or hike, gardening in our yard, playing with our kids in the park or grabbing a meal at one of the great restaurants on our street.

Please be aware that we live in a family neighborhood and keep the noise level down between 10pm and 7am.

Please treat our home as you would your own. Pick up after yourself and don't leave a large mess to clean up. If you break something or spill something, please let us know as soon as possible so we can take care of it.

No pets of any kind allowed on the property or in the apartment.

No sports equipment allowed inside the apartment (including bikes, skis and other large equipment). We have locked storage we can provide access to if you are traveling with equipment. This prevents damage to the floors and walls and keeps your damage deposit in your pocket.

We are not responsible for anything lost or stolen on or inside the premises or in your car, please keep your valuables locked up. You are responsible for keeping the apartment and all of it's contents of value locked up inside while you are staying with us.

This carriage house is even more beautiful in person! The entire place was sparkling clean, and beautiful in design. It is within walking distance to several shops, restaurants, and a wonderful local coffee shop. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to stay here, and I would definitely recommend it to future travelers!

Kent’s place is very stylish but extremely comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet with shops, restaurants and local bars a block or two away. I enjoyed the Book Bar, (even picking up three new titles) and Hops and Pie has some great pizza. I recommend the Italian sausage.
